This 9-mile loop is a great place to start for new riders. With just over 500 ft. of elevation gain, this trail will allow you to practice your skills with very little climbing and a few technical spots. The trail begins with a couple miles of gradual uphill followed by a few miles of equally gradual downhill. This trail includes a few miles of slightly rockier terrain and exciting single-tracks before turning back to the beginning of the trail head.

This trail system offers the most beginner-level riding in Tucson in terms of mileage. It’s possible to string together nearly 20 miles of smooth, flowy, hard-packed single-track with very few technical elements. Depending on your route, the ride will start with about 9 miles of gradual, smooth uphill then turn around and for another 9 miles of smooth, fast, gradual downhill swooping through gorgeous desert landscape.

This trail includes slightly steeper trails with loose rocks, and challenges riders to tackle more technical terrain. The Fantasy Island trail system is known for a number of great obstacles known as “the half-pipe”, the “over-under”, and “the shaft”. Challenge your trail riding with this fun and versatile trip!
